The End12A
Twenty-five years after an environmental catastrophe rendered Earth uninhabitable, a family live in isolation within their luxurious bunker. They cling to hope and routine, trying to preserve a sense of normality. But when a stranger arrives, their fragile world is thrown into turmoil. As tensions rise, the illusion of their perfect existence begins to unravel. BAFTA-winning filmmaker Joshua Oppenheimer (The Act of Killing) returns with a bold, unconventional post-apocalyptic musical starring George MacKay, Tilda Swinton, and Michael Shannon.
Reviews
‘A completely sung-through opera version might yet be produced in Bayreuth or Vienna. I can’t stop thinking about it.’
★★★★★
Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian
‘It’s funny, in a deeply grotesque way. No line is ever directly played for laughs by Shannon, Swinton, or McKay, their selfish myopia reading naturally as true to life. But, as they say, you have to laugh or else you’ll cry.’
★★★★
Clarisse Loughery, The Independent

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road. We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We don’t show adverts, just a couple of trailers, so don't be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
