Mind-Set18

Directed by Mikey Murray | UK | 2022 | 1h 30m | Starring Eilis Cahill, Steve Oram, Jason Isaacs, Pauline Lynch, Robin Laing

A disillusioned office clerk living with her slovenly partner is unexpectedly drawn into a potentially secret affair with a new colleague. The thrill of this pursuit temporarily distracts her from her problematic life, but she remains uncertain about leaving her long-term lover or whether a new relationship truly holds the answers to her problems. Starring Steve Oram (Sightseers), Mikey Murray’s feature debut is an acerbic comedy examining the dynamics of problematic relationships.

Reviews

‘Mikey Murray has made a funny, stroppy, gloomy, punky movie for his crowdfunded lo-fi indie debut: a film in granular black-and-white with a little bit of Ben Wheatley in the mix’
★★★★
Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian
