Shortly before hosting a dinner party, two men strangle a mutual friend to death and quickly conceal the body in a chest where dinner will be served. Unaware of the horrific truth, their guests arrive, including the victim’s unsuspecting fiancée and a college professor whose lectures inadvertently influenced the fatal outcome. This remarkable cinematic achievement, initially conceived as a daring “stunt,” showcases Hitchcock’s mastery of tension within a confined space while cleverly satirising 20th-century high society and academia.

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road. We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We don’t show adverts, just a couple of trailers, so don't be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
