Directed by Fritz Lang | Germany | 1926 | 2h 30m | Starring Brigitte Helm, Alfred Abel, Gustav Fröhlich, Rudolf Klein-Rogge, Fritz Rasp

In a futuristic city, a wealthy utopia exists above a bleak underworld where mistreated workers live. When a privileged young man discovers the grim scene below, he sets out to help the workers and befriends a rebellious teacher, putting him at odds with his authoritative father. With its stunning sets, iconic design and pioneering special effects, Fritz Lang’s prophetic sci-fi is one of the greatest and most influential films to emerge out of the era of silent cinema.
