Benediction12A
Decorated for bravery on the Western Front, Siegfried Sassoon is best remembered for his poetry about his experiences of the First World War, which brought him public and critical acclaim. Written and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Terence Davies (The Long Day Closes, Distant Voices Still Songs), this profoundly moving drama explores the turbulent life of a complex and compelling figure of British literature.
Reviews
‘Confronting the complexities of Siegfried Sassoon, Terence Davies does little to sugarcoat the inner torment of Sassoon in this uncompromising biopic’
★★★★
Tim Robey, The Telegraph
‘The tragic life of the poet and soldier is revisited with melancholy and theatricality in a bleak, and often hard to watch, biopic’
★★★★
Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road. We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We don’t show adverts, just a couple of trailers, so don't be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
