MAONA presents: BuladoRating-TBC

Directed by Eché Janga | Curaçao | 2020 | 1h 27m | Dutch & Papiamento w/ English subtitles | Starring Tiara Richards, Everon Jackson Hooi, Vanessa Abad, Felix de Rooy

Torn between her agnostic father and her spiritual grandfather, headstrong 11-year-old girl Kenza is determined to find her own path into adulthood as she mourns the death of her mother. Laced with magic realism and drawing on the director’s personal heritage, Buladó beautifully explores the haunting effects of its protagonist’s personal and ancestral past.

This screening will be introduced by Tatenda Jamera, Curator, MAONA Art (Independent Community Cinema and Gallery committed to showcasing the best of African Cinema and Art). Tickets available for the discounted price of £5 each.
