The Outrun15
After spending her twenties living in London, Rona returns to her childhood home on the Orkney Islands. Lonely, heartbroken, and with her career in ruins, she confronts harsh realities while navigating her path to sobriety and inner peace. Saoirse Ronan delivers a powerful performance as a young alcoholic in recovery, anchoring Nora Fingscheidt’s moving adaptation of Amy Liptrot’s award-winning memoir.
Reviews
‘An exceptional performance from Saoirse Ronan powers this affecting, slow-moving drama about addiction and hope.’
★★★★
Anna Smith, Total Film
‘It’s an incredibly effective portrait of a reeling mind, the visual language of intrusive thoughts and rabbit holes. Flashbacks accumulate like the bottles on Rona’s floor.’
★★★★
Adrian Horton, The Guardian

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road. We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We don’t show adverts, just a couple of trailers, so don't be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
