The Order15

Directed by Justin Kurzel | USA | 2024 | 1h 56m | Starring Jude Law, Nicholas Hoult, Tye Sheridan, Marc Maron, George Tchortov

A sudden wave of violent bombings and bank robberies in the Pacific Northwest draws a seasoned FBI agent into a deadly game of cat and mouse with a domestic terrorist group determined to overthrow the U.S. government. Set against stunning pastoral landscapes and underscored by a haunting, brooding score, this hard-boiled crime thriller—set in the 1980s and inspired by a shocking true story—features a magnetic lead performance from Jude Law.

Reviews

‘Kurzel’s film is part hard-bitten character study… But The Order also works as a gripping procedural in its own right – a long-form game of investigative join-the-dots, built around a series of lethally disciplined action scenes.’
★★★★
Robbie Collin, The Telegraph

‘While highly effective as docudrama, The Order is also briskly compelling as a straight-down-the-line detective thriller, especially in its action sequences.’
★★★★
Jonathan Romney, The Guardian
