The Legend of the Stardust Brothers15

Directed by Makoto Teduka | Japan | 1985 | 1h 41m | Japanese w/ English subtitles | Starring Shingo Kubota, Kan Takagi, Kyôko Togawa, Issay, Kiyohiko Ozaki

A shady music mogul takes punk rock rebel Kan and new-wave crooner Shingo, mashes their styles together, and rebrands them as the Stardust Brothers – a silver-jumpsuited, synth-pop sensation tailor-made for screaming fans. With their biggest admirer, an aspiring singer herself, by their side, the duo rockets to fame. Drawing inspiration from Phantom of the Paradise and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, director Macoto Tezka filled this outrageously fun cult musical comedy with some of Japan’s biggest music stars of the era.

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road. We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We don’t show adverts, just a couple of trailers, so don't be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
