The Iron Claw15

Directed by Sean Durkin | USA | 2023 | 2h 12m | Starring Zac Efron, Jeremy Allen White, Lily James, Harris Dickinson, Maura Tierney

The true story of the inseparable Von Erich brothers, who etched their names in the annals of professional wrestling history during the early 1980s. Amidst moments of tragedy and triumph, and beneath the imposing influence of their commanding father, they aspired to become trailblazers within the sporting world. Zac Efron and Jeremy Allen White (The Bear) deliver compelling performances in this heavyweight melodrama brimming with emotion.

‘Thanks to the cast’s stellar work and Sean Durkin’s own precise control of the film’s tone, The Iron Claw is a senton bomb of a movie – an exhilarating rise followed by the most devastating fall.’
★★★★★
Ross McIndoe, The Skinny

‘Efron, White, Dickinson and Simons render grief in all its shades. But it’s Efron, his outrageously muscled body made beatific with a Joan of Arc bowl cut, who softens the film’s harder knocks with a performance of disarming tenderness.’
★★★★
Clarisse Loughrey, The Independent
