The French Connection18
In 1970s New Work, undercover detective Jimmy “Popeye” Doyle and his partner are investigating a heroin-smuggling ring. As the case grows in political scope and takes on international implications, the stakes rise, and so does the danger surrounding them. With its gritty aesthetic, sharp screenplay, and one of the most iconic car chases in American cinema, William Friedkin’s Oscar-winning crime thriller made a star of Gene Hackman and cemented his reputation as one of his generation’s most enigmatic acting talents.

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road.We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We only show a few adverts – less than most cinemas – and we only play a couple of trailers, so please don’t be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
