The Age of InnocenceU

Directed by Martin Scorsese | USA | 1993 | 2h 18m | Starring Daniel Day-Lewis, Michelle Pfeiffer, Winona Ryder, Richard E. Grant, Geraldine Chaplin

In 1870s New York, wealthy lawyer Newland Archer is engaged to sweet socialite May Welland. On the surface, it is a perfect match. But when May’s beautiful cousin Countess Ellen arrives in town, she ignites passions in Newland he never knew existed. Swelling with exquisite period detail, Scorsese’s wistful period romance is an alternately heartbreaking and satirical look at the brutality of old-world America.
