Rodeo15

Directed by Lola Quivoron | France | 2022 | 1h 46m | French w/ English subtitles | Starring Julie Ledru, Yannis Lafki, Antonia Buresi, Cody Schroeder, Louis Sotton

A hot tempered young woman on the fringes of society finds an escape through her passion for motorcycles and the high-octane world of urban ‘rodeos’ – illicit gatherings where riders show off their skills. After a chance meeting, she’s drawn into a clandestine clique, where she faces a series of escalating demands to earn her place in the community. Lola Quivoron’s feature directorial debut is a rites-of-passage drama that launches itself into the crime genre at full throttle.

Reviews

‘Rodeo is a heart-pounding, wholly unique ride, punctuated by incredible stunt work from Ledru and the rest of the cast and possessed by a kinetic, high-energy drive.’
★★★★★
Kate Erbland, IndieWire

‘Rodeo is a combustible fusion of crime story, character study and existential mystery, a tale of celebration and lament, and it announces the arrival of a gifted and adventurous filmmaker.’
Sheri Linden, Hollywood Reporter
