O Brother, Where Art Thou?12A

Directed by Joel Coen | 2000 | USA | 1h 47m | Starring George Clooney, John Turturro, Tim Blake Nelson, John Goodman, Holly Hunter

Rural Mississippi, 1937. Three convicts escape from a chain gang after hearing of hidden treasure, setting off on a wild quest for fortune. Along the way, they cross paths with musicians, politicians, and outlaws, while relentless lawmen stay hot on their trail. Loosely inspired by Homer’s The Odyssey, the Coen Brothers’ (Raising Arizona, Fargo, No Country for Old Men) screwball comedy offers a sharp, satirical portrait of the American South in the post-Depression era.
