Mr Kneff15

Directed by Steven Soderbergh | USA | 2021 | 1h 18m | Starring Jeremy Irons, Theresa Russell, Joel Grey, Ian Holm, Alec Guinness.

After his groundbreaking debut sex, lies, and videotape (1989), Steven Soderbergh turned to the life of renowned author Franz Kafka for his next project. Blending elements of Kafka’s life with his fictional worlds, Kafka, starring Jeremy Irons in the title role, was released in 1991. Thirty years later, Soderbergh has revisited the film, re-editing it into a shorter version and stripping out all dialogue to create “a silent film with sound and music.”

After premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2021, we are excited to present this brand new re-edit, entitled Mr Kneff, screening in the UK for the very first time.

This one-off screening includes an introduction by Andrew Pulver, film journalist at The Guardian.
