Mother and Son12A

Directed by Léonor Serraille | France | 2022 | 1h 57m | French w/ English subtitles | Starring Annabelle Lengronne, Stéphane Bak, Kenzo Sambin, Ahmed Sylla, Sidy Fofana

In the late 1980s, Rose moves from the Ivory Coast to the Paris suburbs with her two young sons. Spanning 20 years from their arrival in France to the present day, this moving drama chronicles the construction and deconstruction of a family. Writer and director Leonor Serraille, whose debut feature Jeune Femme won the Golden Camera (Best Debut) Award at Cannes in 2017, crafts a beautifully tender portrait of a family in this novelistic drama about feminine strength.
