Jules and Jim (35mm Presentation)12A
In the carefree years before World War I, the reserved Austrian writer Jules forms a close friendship with the outgoing Frenchman Jim. Both men fall in love with the impulsive and captivating Catherine, though it is Jules who ultimately marries her. After the war, Jim visits Jules, Catherine, and their young daughter at their home in Austria, where he realises that his feelings for Catherine have not faded, and that she shares them. By turns exuberant and deeply moving, Jules and Jim is a meditation on freedom, loyalty, and the resilience of love. A worldwide success upon its release in 1962, it remains as enchanting today as ever.
One-off screening presented on 35mm film.

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road.We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We only show a few adverts – less than most cinemas – and we only play a couple of trailers, so please don’t be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
