Janet Planet12A
In the summer of 1991, 11-year-old Lacy spends her days at home in rural Western Massachusetts, immersed in her imagination and the attentive care of her mother, Janet. As the months pass and various visitors come and go, Lacy watches Janet closely and starts to understand her own place in the world. In this tender debut, Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Annie Baker offers a genuine and sometimes uneasy portrayal of motherhood and the raw experience of adolescence.
Reviews
‘Baker’s tingling delicacy of touch makes it a subtly distinctive experience: it’s a film I already looked forward to revisiting while tiptoeing through it the first time.’

Tim Robey, The Telegraph
‘There is nothing artificial here, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t mystery. It’s the mystery of people and their unusual behaviors and the way they can flit in and out of our lives and our consciousness.’

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road. We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We don’t show adverts, just a couple of trailers, so don't be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
