The extraordinary story of Harriet Tubman, chronicling her escape from slavery and transformation into a leading abolitionist fighter, who freed hundreds of slaves in the years before the American Civil War. Tony-winning Broadway actor Cynthia Erivo stars in this rousing historical biopic about a truly inspiring woman who became an icon of courage and freedom.
‘So often, historical films are stale and mired in misery, but Harriet has a rare buoyancy.’
Simran Hans, The Observer
‘It’s a rousing piece of film-making from Lemmons.’
Ed Potton, The Times

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road. We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We don’t show adverts, just a couple of trailers, so don't be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
