Elvis12A

Directed by Baz Luhrmann | USA | 2022 | 2h 40m | Starring Austin Butler, Tom Hanks, Olivia DeJonge, Helen Thomson, Kodi Smit-McPhee

The story of rock ’n’ rock icon Elvis Presley and the complicated relationship with his cunning and enigmatic manager, Colonel Tom Parker. Austin Butler gives a charismatic, hip-thrusting performance in Baz Luhrmann’s dazzling biopic spanning the twenty years in which Elvis rose to unprecedented stardom in mid-20th century America.

Reviews

‘Of the actors who have previously tried to bottle Elvis’s lightning-like magic, none has come close to the physical, emotional, electrical energy that throbs through Austin Butler’s titular performance here.’
★★★★★
Mark Kermode, The Observer

‘Baz Luhrmann’s sweaty, opulent take on the King of rock ’n’ roll is not a biopic but a fairy tale.’
★★★★
Anna Bogutskaya, Little White Lies

Plan your visit

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road. We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We don’t show adverts, just a couple of trailers, so don't be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
