The life of a young sex worker from Brooklyn takes a dramatic turn when she meets and spontaneously marries the reckless son of a Russian billionaire. But when his parents find out, they send their henchmen to annul the marriage, sparking a chaotic chase through New York. An audacious, freewheeling, and bittersweet modern day romance by acclaimed American filmmaker Sean Baker (The Florida Project, Red Rocket). Winner of the Palme d’Or for Best Film at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.
Reviews
‘Every character in Anora might be an utter nightmare, but they’re also a joy to spend time with, and the cast understand them down to their smallest behavioural tells.’

Robbie Collin, The Telegraph
‘… The story reaches a new pitch of Coen brothers-style black comedy. Then, just when you think you have it worked out, Baker hits you with a final scene of sobering poignancy.’

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road. We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We don’t show adverts, just a couple of trailers, so don't be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
