Barton Fink15

Directed by Joel Coen | USA | 1991 | 1h 56m | Starring John Turturro, John Goodman, Judy Davis, Michael Lerner, Steve Buscemi

In 1940s America, a New York playwright relocates to Los Angeles after accepting an offer to write Hollywood scripts. While working on an uninspiring B-movie script and living in a rundown hotel, he struggles with chronic writer’s block. Fortunately, he finds help from a charismatic salesman who lives in the room next door. The Coen Brothers won the Palme d’Or for Best Film at the 1991 Cannes Film Festival for this darkly comic satire of Hollywood commercialism and artistic self-delusion.
