Wildfire15

Dir. Cathy Brady | Ireland | 2020 | 1h 24m | Starring Nika McGuigan, Nora-Jane Noone, Kate Dickie

Two sisters are reunited after spending time apart while coming to terms with their mother’s sudden death. With the intense sisterhood reignited, their desire to unearth their family history is not welcomed by all within their close-knit community. A heartfelt Troubles-era drama about generational trauma featuring two hypnotic lead performances from Danika McGuigan and Nora-Jane Noone (The Magdalene Sisters).

Reviews

‘Brady makes her story feel fresh, alive, and specific, simmering with just-out-of-reach-dread, but also adorned by the very particular relationship at the film’s center.’
