Satomi, the leader of his junior high school choir, is facing the pressure of his final performance while also dealing with the awkwardness of his changing voice. But his world is turned upside down when Kyoji, a yakuza lieutenant, barges into his life. Kyoji is terrified of the upcoming karaoke competition hosted by his boss—he’s a terrible singer and risks facing punishment if he loses. Desperate, Kyoji begs Satomi for singing lessons. Though initially reluctant, Satomi is drawn into the chaos, finding himself teaching karaoke to a yakuza member. Directed by Yamashita Nobuhiro (Linda Linda Linda) and based on the manga by Wayama Yama, Let’s Go Karaoke! is a charming and hilarious comedy that explores the unlikely bond between two very different people.
