TWO SPECIAL ALL’OPERA SCREENINGS / ROMEO AND JULIET & LA TRAVIATA / 30 MAY & 11 JUL

If you’re a fan of going to see the ballet and the opera, you will love these two upcoming special events. We will be showing two special All’Opera screenings on Tuesday 30th May and Tuesday 11th July. No Galilean binoculars required!

Firstly, on Tuesday 30th May, we will be showing a recorded performance of Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet filmed at the La Scala theatre in Milan. The production features choreography by legendary British dancer and choreographer Sir Kenneth MacMillan and pairs principle dancers Roberto Bolle and Misty Copeland for the very first time.

The screening begins at 7pm, with a running time of 2h 53m (including intermissions).

Secondly on Tuesday 11th July, we’ll be showing a special one-off screening of Giuseppe Verdi’s classic opera, La Traviata. The production was directed by American film-maker Sofia Coppola and features dress design by Italian haute couture king Valentino.

Oscar-nominated cinematographer Philippe Le Sourde (The Grandmaster) filmed the performance using multiple state-of-the art 4K cameras at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma in 2016.

The screening begins at 7pm, with a running time of 2h 22m (including intermissions).
