SCIENCE OXFORD PRESENT LIFE, ANIMATED + Q&A - 1 FEB 2017
Posted: Mon 2 Jan
On Wednesday 1st February, we are partnering with Science Oxford to bring you one of the most critically acclaimed documentary releases of 2016, Life, Animated.
Based on a book by Pulitzer Prize winning writer Ron Suskind, the film tells the remarkable story of how Owen Suskind found in Disney animation a pathway to language and a framework for making sense of the world.
By evocatively interweaving classic Disney sequences with verite scenes from Owen’s life, the film explores how identification and empathy with characters like Simba, Jafar, and Ariel forge a conduit for him to understand his feelings and interpret reality.
The film will be followed by a Q&A session with Steven Chance from the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences and chaired by Science Oxford.
