Dir. Haifaa Al Mansour. Saudi Arabia, 2012. 1h 37m. Arabic/subs. Starring Waad Mohammed, Reem Abdullah, Abdullrahman Al Gohani.

A rebellious Saudi Arabian girl hatches a plan to get her hands on the bicycle she craves in this coming-of-age story from first time director Haifaa Al-Mansour.

This is a fundraising and launch event for the Cowley Road Works 'Freewheeling' project. The screening will include a live music performance by flute and tabla duo Phil Freizinger and Chris Hills and a Q&A with artists involved with the project. The Freewheeling project is about creating a dialogue through art to address issues of freedoms and difference, identity, ending violence against women and girls, resilience, and the role of the bike as a vehicle for freedom and social change.
