A tragic black comedy about three orphaned siblings battling with a corrupt local police chief over ownership of their mother’s ancestral home. The screening will be introduced with a short talk from Dr Rico Isaacs on his book Film and Identity in Kazakhstan: Soviet and Post-Soviet Culture in Central Asia and followed by a Q&A with the prize-winning director Adilkhan Yerzhanov.
